What we have been up to:

While the weather cannot make up its mind if it really going to get down to the business of the typical, chilly temperatures, we have been as industrious as ever. Michelle has finally made peace that the blog on the Center’s website is going to feature articles not only about art therapy and wellness but also features about gardening, home education, and pretty much any other topics that grab the attention of her writing muse. She figured that since she leads a multi-faceted life that presenting a singular view would be too limiting, not to mention boring, and the thought of it blocked the urge to write at all.  So her most recent post is about how the Dean’s came to home schooling entitled: “The light came on: The turning point for home-education”. Mark will write on occasion but as he is busy finishing his training to become a Jungian analyst his writing time is devoted to such requirements.

We have been busy pouring over garden catalogs and planning gardens, mostly the new orchard, of which we look forward to pie cherries, Asian pears, plums, and apples. The baby fruit trees will be no more than twigs, but nonetheless their arrival is anxiously awaited. Indoor seeds are underway: heirloom tomatoes, eggplants, and flowers. The other garden favorites will be sown directly in May.

As Valentine’s Day is upon us and we finish reading “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory”, we experimented with new confection recipes of our own. We hope you enjoy equal

sweetness in all aspects of life.

In keeping with our mission, The Center for Psyche & the Arts, LLC offers a warm and compassionate approach in which to understand and utilize the creative arts, symbolism, and creative imagination within the practice of psychotherapy as well as provides educational opportunities for individuals, families, groups, and the public. We look forward to seeing you soon. Please help us by spreading the news by forwarding this message to anyone you believe would be interested in our programs or services. A warm welcome to our judges:

Kim Branson, BFA – Illustrator, designer, and artist -

Kim Branson has had a interest in art for as long as she can remember. She explored her creative interests at the University of the Arts in Philadelphia by working towards a BFA in Illustration. Since then, she has enjoyed working within various areas of the art world. With her fine arts skills, she has painted monoprints placed in hotels world-wide, co-illustrated a children’s education book, Killer Whales, and had many unique freelance opportunities. These skills easily transitioned her into a graphic design career, working mainly in the publishing world first with sports, teen and country music magazines and then later to casual game packaging and social media gaming.

Most importantly, her appreciation for all genres of art remains strong and is always open to seeing others’ creative point of view and design aesthetic.

Johanna Kane, MA, ATR-BC, LPC – Art Psychotherapist -
